Minnesota Overpowers Denver Behind Edwards' Explosive Performance
DENVER -- The Minnesota Timberwolves stole home-court advantage in the second round of the playoffs by securing a 1-0 series lead against the Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves' victory was fueled by an impressive performance from Anthony Edwards, who dropped 43 points on the Nuggets' defense. Karl-Anthony Towns also contributed significantly, with 29 points and 13 rebounds.
The Timberwolves started the game strong, taking an early lead and maintaining it throughout the first half. Edwards was particularly effective in the first two quarters, scoring 20 points and leading the team to a 65-53 halftime advantage.
Denver, however, fought back in the third quarter, led by Nikola Jokic, who finished with 29 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Nuggets managed to cut the lead to just 4 points heading into the fourth quarter.
But Edwards and the Timberwolves would not be denied. Edwards continued to attack the rim and draw fouls, making 13 of his 14 free-throw attempts in the game. Towns also chipped in with some key baskets in the fourth quarter, helping to seal the victory for Minnesota.
