Vince Vaughn, Health Inspector, Investigates Murder in Apple TV's 'Bad Monkey'
'Bad Monkey' Not a Whodunit, More a Mystery of Character
Vince Vaughn stars as a health inspector who investigates a murder case involving a human arm in "Bad Monkey," a new Apple TV series. The show is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen.
Unconventional Crime Story
In "Bad Monkey," Vaughn plays Andrew Yancy, a divorced health inspector who gets involved in a murder case while investigating a restaurant. The case takes him on a journey through the Florida Keys, where he encounters a cast of eccentric characters.
Lawrence, the show's creator, says that "Bad Monkey" is not a whodunit, but rather a mystery that explores the characters' motivations and relationships.
- "It's more about the journey than the destination," Lawrence said.
- "We're interested in exploring the characters and their relationships, and how they're all connected to this crime."
The show also features Connie Britton as Vaughn's love interest, a marine biologist who is also investigating the murder case.
Praise for Vaughn's Performance
Critics have praised Vaughn's performance in "Bad Monkey," saying that he brings a lot of charisma and humor to the role.
"Vaughn is perfectly cast as Yancy," wrote The New York Times. "He's charming, funny, and believable as a health inspector who gets caught up in a murder case."
"Bad Monkey" is now streaming on Apple TV+.
